A Unique Folklore Experience in the Heart of Konavle
For decades, the Sunday folklore events in Čilipi have been one of the most recognizable symbols of Konavle. Set in the square in front of the Church of St. Nicholas, amid stone architecture and centuries-old tradition, these gatherings bring together locals and visitors in a celebration of music, dance, and customs.
Born out of the tourism boom of the 1960s, the events have had a special role from the very beginning — bringing the rich heritage of Konavle closer to a wider audience. Through performances by folklore groups, the sounds of traditional instruments, and displays of original folk costumes, the Sunday program in Čilipi has become an authentic experience that bridges past and present.
Today, these events are more than just a tourist attraction — they are also an important part of the local community's identity, a space where tradition is lived, nurtured, and passed on.
Experience traditional dances, songs, and customs nurtured in Čilipi for generations, representing a vital part of Konavle’s cultural heritage.
One of Croatia’s most beautiful folk costumes delights with rich embroidery, silk details and unique headpieces.
Accompanied by the traditional klapa singing and sounds of the instruments tamburica and lijerica our folklore performance brings a lively atmosphere and a true taste of Dalmatian culture.
Performances take place in the authentic setting of the village square in front of St. Nicholas Church, giving the entire event a special charm.
The folklore program is more than just a show—it’s an opportunity to meet the people, customs, and way of life in Konavle.
